Introduction and Review of Chemical Reactor Analysis

In this activity, you will:
- Review the process for modeling simple chemical reactors.
- Use data from a batch experiment to determine the reaction rate expression and reaction rate constant for the production of a chemical product.
- Prepare for a game in which you must guide the design and operation of a commercial reactor in a competitve market space.
You are ready for this activity if
- You have completed a first course in calculus
- You have some knowledge of general chemistry

Play the Game (book ref: ch. 1 and 2)

In this activity you will:
- Use your CFSTR model equations to design a reactor for the production of a chemical product
- Determine a technically feasible volume for your reactor
- Operate your reactor for 5 years in a competitive market
- Try to make more profit than your competition
You are ready for this activity if you have completed any of the following:
- The Introductory activity above
- A course in chemical reactor analysis and design
- Completed your study of Chapters 1 & 2
Heat Exchanger and Mass Contactor Analysis (ungraded)
Select an analysis from the table shown at below. These analyses are ungraded.
In this activity you will :
- Produce Level I, II and II analyses of reactors, heat exchangers, and mass contactors.
You are ready for this activity if
- You have critically read chapter 1
- You want a quick and easy preview of Chapters 2-4
